JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) The Cambria County Republican Committee says theyre considering a resolution to censure U.S. Senator Pat Toomey and U.S. Senator Bob Casey for failing to uphold the U.S. Constitution.

The Cambria County Republican Committee says they’re considering a resolution to censure U.S. Senator Pat Toomey and U.S. Senator Bob Casey for failing to uphold the U.S. Constitution.

According to a release, the CCRC discussed the United States Senate’s vote to impeach former President Donald Trump this week during their monthly meeting.

They say the U.S. Constitution wasn’t followed when the decision was made to proceed with the trial.

“The CCRC does not agree with the U.S. Senate’s analysis of the U.S. Constitution and passionately believes a former President cannot be impeached when he is no longer in office,” Republican officials said. “Our country is in the middle of a pandemic created by China. Wasting time and money on a second impeachment is reprehensible.”

CCRC officials say they’re inviting any registered voter to sign the censure of both Senators Saturday at their headquarters located at 1222 Scalp Avenue, Johnstown, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
